These days it truly is all about marketing. And whether you like it or not, we have to market (or sell) ourselves each and every day. Marketing is all about getting your products or services known, getting people to understand the value you are providing and making sure your products and services are available right when your customers need them. We market ourselves in this way every day. I’m sure you like to make yourself presentable, show your best face as it were and highlight your best points while playing down anything that could be considered negative.
Well, this is marketing. A classic example of every day marketing is simply when we’re talking to our kids! When we’re trying to persuade them to finish their dinner, or get dressed, or what ever it is… we are selling.
So when you are a marketing rebel, it means you understand that marketing goes a hell of a lot deeper than just selling your business product. It’s a way of life, and in order to be really good at it, you’ve got to understand life and you’ve got to understand people. I don’t mean you always have to have all the answers, of course not.
But you do need to know how to ask the questions!
Being a marketing rebel means that you use your brain and you truly try to help steer people in a direction that will benefit them. We are rebeling against out dated marketing styles that focus on selling and nothing else. We wnat to focu on the whole picture. Create a winwin situation that benefits every body.
So let’s do that.
